Pet Food Pantry
Our Pet Food Pantry helps support community members by providing food for pets during times of need - because keeping pets fed helps keep them at home.
Where The Food Comes From
We partner with local businesses to utilize damaged or unsellable products (such as torn bags or opened cases that are still safe to use.)
Our primary donor is HyVee Distribution Center, whose support helps make this program possible.

Community donations are also welcome! If your pet suddenly decides they’re picky and won’t eat the food you purchased, consider donating it to the pantry rather than throwing it away.
Why We Offer A Pantry
Many people ask why we don’t use this food for the animals in our care. There are two main reasons:
-
We keep our shelter pets on a consistent diet to reduce stomach upset and, in turn, reduce cleaning and cleaning costs
-
By using these donated products for the pantry, we’re helping families keep their pets at home and out of the shelter.
Hours And How To Access
Our pantry is open during our business hours from 9 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday through Saturday. (Closed from 12 - 1 PM for lunch.)
-
There are no income guidelines to use the pantry.
-
We do not share information about who uses the pantry.
-
We collect basic data only to show impact to donors, grantors, and sponsors to help ensure this service continues.
-
We encourage community members to call ahead to check availability, as supplies depend entirely on donations.
